January 2018
Happy New Year to everybody. Every new year presents an opportunity to do an early personal spring clean and re-set your goals and wishes.
Our first January blog looks at how we can free up mental space to make way for new plans and goals.
Out with the old and in with the new
Treat your mind as you would your home and remove the clutter. Assess what’s important and release anything from the past that’s no longer of value or use. The beginning of the year is a great time to start anew – remove any unnecessary thoughts to make way for new priorities.
Set your intention
Once you’ve made room for new priorities, you can set your goals and intentions. There are a few things to remember when setting your intentions:
- be realistic and set something that’s achievable
- do something you would really like to do
- focus your mind on what you need to do
- create a plan…
Create a diary for planning
Lists or diaries help us to get things done whilst minimizing stress levels. We’re more motivated to complete work without worrying about other tasks if we have a list or diary. It’s a simple way of feeling in control.
Don’t put off what you need to do
Procrastinating is something we can all be guilty of but setting a start and end time for tasks helps us to be productive. Set a plan to achieve what we need then have the courage to make a start!
